Project Overview
The objective of this project is to draw from the sum of knowledge that I have acquired and assimilate all the lessons into a cohesive whole. Additionally, the project must be unified and themed while making sure that the site is fluid by utilizing a responsive cascading stylesheet.

Summary
Web Graphics Design 242 (WGD242) was probably the most educational web design class I have taken while pursuing my web development degree at DeVry University. I have practiced and maintained my previous knowledge of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Stylesheet (CSS) while learning new techniques and new scripting languages such as jQuery and JavaScript. In this course, I was tasked to create a website for a specified topic, and I initially picked a wood flooring company as my topic with an emphasis on a retro or vintage theme and look. I would then update the site weekly with the lessons I have learned during the weekly tutorial work.
Design Process
The first step when creating this wood flooring website was to create a mock template while picking out the proper font type and color scheme that could be utilized as a blueprint or roadmap to what the website will look when it is done. A very specific color scheme and font type would have to use because of the vintage theme. I decided to go with an earth tone color scheme with a high emphasis on tan and orange as the primary colors and light blue as my secondary color. Since serif font had the best retro look, I determined that font types such as, Georgia, and Times New Roman would be best for my content, and sans-serif font was used for my headers.
The next step after creating the mock design, picking out the color scheme, and font type is to code and design the website. The navigation must consist three primary links, which are the index (home) page, about page, and contact page. These primary links are relevant because these are considered the pages that most people are looking for when perusing the website. Whether the visitor would love to know more about the company or to find the best way to contact them. The navigations color scheme and theme must be consistent with the rest of the site, and this can be easily achieved by utilizing CSS.
Almost, if not, all tags on this website was manipulated to make sure that it can be viewed to any modern devices. For example, the section tag width is at 75% when the resolution is at 1920 pixels and would gradually increase when the resolution goes down to 800 pixels. Lower resolution devices such as a phone screen usually end at 799 pixels, and this forced the websites content to stack upon each other for comprehensiveness. These tag manipulations were done by utilizing Responsive CSS Controls.
Conclusion
The skills I have learned such as, full-page scroll website, image sliders, and form validation are the skills I need to improve my chances of landing a front-end web developer career that I am working for. I would usually stay away from utilizing any jQuery scripts in creating a website because I just simply did not understand them. However, not only do I now know how to read scripts, but this class has also taught me on how to properly manipulate and edit them to match the theme of any website I may create in the future. I will continue to study and practice scripting to further understand how jQuery really works since this skill is necessary for every web developers nowadays.
