Summary
Mamby on the Beach is a real concert event held in Chicago, Illinois annually. The clients company however is not. Nevertheless, client insisted that the email blast must follow these guidelines for future use.
Design Process
I initially looked at the previous Mamby on the Beach poster designs and their website to ensure that I follow the color scheme and design aspects. I wanted the poster to be legitimate even if the company is not real.
I sketched out the design and used Adobe Illustrator to trace what I have created. Once again, I wanted a vector image for scalability. As for the font-type, I decided on sans-serif to ensure that the information is readable. Finally, I used Adobe Illustrator to recreate the event logo and included it in the email blast.
Conclusion
Although the final result was well-received, I would like to re-create this project. I would start with the logo since, in my opinion, it looks too dull. Next, the information regarding the event is not needed here. Instead, I would replace it with the headliner bands to further entice and attract the audience. However, the client was pleased with the look and was more than happy to use it in the future.
