Summary
Took the initial flyer, which was created in Microsoft Word, and re-designed it to make it more visually appealing. I picked out a specific color scheme and created an image to ensure that I grab the attention of any visitors, family members, and guests's attention.
Design Process
As stated in my summary, I chose orange as my primary color to make sure that the flyer is eye-catching and added specks of gold, with a lower opacity, in the background to break off the solid color. Next, I created the haunted house image using Adobe Illustrator. The goal was to place the image in front of the moon since it serves as a border for the illustration.
I opened Adobe Photoshop and inserted all the pictures I created. The party information given to me was too long and redundant, so I decided to condense it and presented only the critical information. I felt that the background color was still too bright, so I decided to tack on slanted-line effect and changed the color to tangerine (darker version of it). Lastly, the company quote and logo was added at the footer.
Conclusion
Client and visitors adored the design, and the Halloween event was a success. I personally would not change much if I were to re-design the flyer. I love the header image and thought that using the moon as a border was a nice touch. However, I believe that the content is a little crowded and would move some of the information around or change the font size to provide some white space.
